Bafoulabé is a town and rural commune located in the south-western region of Mali. It serves as the capital of the Cercle of Bafoulabé, which holds historical significance as the first Cercle established in Mali in 1887.
The town is situated at the geographical confluence of the Bafing and Bakoy rivers, where they join to form the Sénégal River. This location makes it a notable point within the Region of Kayes.
