Strumica

North Macedonia

Strumica is the largest city located in southeastern North Macedonia and ranks as the country's ninth most populous urban center. It serves as the eponymous seat of the Strumica Municipality and is situated near the Novo Selo-Petrich border crossing with Bulgaria.

The city derives its name from the Strumica River, which is a tributary of the Struma River that flows through the area. The population of the city and its surrounding region is approximately 54,676 people.
