Gostivar is a city located in the upper Polog valley region of North Macedonia. It serves as the administrative seat of the Gostivar Municipality, which is one of the larger municipalities in the country.
The town covers an area of 1.341 square kilometres and has a population of 59,770. It is connected to other regional cities, including Tetovo, Skopje, Kičevo, Ohrid, and Debar, via road and railway networks. A 24-kilometre freeway connecting Gostivar to Tetovo was constructed in 1995.
