Taroa

Marshall Islands

Taroa is an island located in the eastern portion of Maloelap Atoll within the Marshall Islands. It serves as a geographic point within the atoll's chain of islands.

The island is historically significant for its role during World War II, when it served as the site of a major Japanese airfield. Although the airfield was destroyed toward the end of the war, various parts of the base and its ruins remain visible across the island today.
