Berane is a town located in the northern region of Montenegro. It serves as the former administrative center of the Ivangrad District and is situated along the Lim River.
The town was officially known as Ivangrad from 1949 to 1992, named in honor of the people's hero Ivan Milutinović. According to the 2023 census, the town itself had a population of 9,923 residents, while the broader municipality area recorded a population of 25,162.
