Aousserd, also known as Ausert or Auserd, is a small town and rural commune located in the Aousserd Province of the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region. The area is situated in Western Sahara, a territory currently under Moroccan occupation and subject to dispute between Morocco and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The settlement is characterized by a low number of permanent structures due to the nomadic lifestyle of many local residents. These inhabitants, who are traditionally Bedouin, often live in tents and pass through the town only temporarily. According to the 2004 census, the commune had a total population of 5,832 people residing in 225 households.
