Settat is a city located in Morocco, situated between the national capital, Rabat, and Marrakesh. It lies approximately 83.9 km (52.1 mi) south of the center of Casablanca by road, roughly an hour's drive from the coastal hub. The city is positioned about 40 km (25 mi) north of Ben Ahmed and 34 km (21 mi) south of Berrechid.
As the capital of Settat Province, it serves as the region's largest city in both population and size. According to the 2014 Moroccan census, the city had a population of 142,250 people. Geographically, Settat sits at an elevation of 370 m (1,210 ft) above sea level on a plateau surrounded by foothills in all directions.
The city features historical antiquities, most notably the very old Ismailiya Kasbah. A distinguishing feature of the area is a statue of a steed located at the center of the city.
