Mehdya

Mehdya, also referred to as Mehdia or Mehedya, is a town located in the Kénitra Province of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region in north-western Morocco.

Historically known as al-Ma'mura, the settlement underwent various name changes during periods of foreign occupation. It was identified as São João da Mamora under Portuguese rule in the 16th century and subsequently referred to as La Mamora during Spanish occupation in the 17th century.
