Oujda is a major city located in northeastern Morocco, serving as the capital of the Oriental region. It is situated approximately 15 kilometres west of the Moroccan-Algerian border and lies to the south of the Beni Iznassen Mountains. The city is positioned about 55 kilometres south of the Mediterranean coast.
As a significant urban center in the region, Oujda has a population of 506,224 people. It serves as a primary hub for the Oriental region due to its geographic location near the international border.
