Al Hoceima

Al Hoceima is a city located in northern Morocco on the Mediterranean coast. Situated at the northern edge of the Rif Mountains, it serves as the capital city of the Al Hoceima Province and lies within the heart of the Central Rif region.

The city is surrounded by high peaks of the Rif mountain range, including Mount Tidghin, which reaches an elevation of 2,452 meters. Historically, Al Hoceima served as a focal point for the Republic of the Rif between 1921 and 1926 and continues to be a cultural center for the Ayt Waryaghar tribe.

Despite its small size, Al Hoceima is a recognized tourist destination. The city has a population of approximately 50,225 residents.
