Al-Khums, also known as Khoms, is a coastal city and port located on the Mediterranean coast of Libya. It serves as the de jure capital of the Murqub District. The city has an estimated population of approximately 202,000 people.
Historically, Al-Khums served as the administrative center of the al-Khums District between 1983 and 1995. According to census data from 1984, the city's population was recorded at 38,174.
