Zawiya, officially known as Zawia, is a city located in northwestern Libya along the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated in the historic region of Tripolitania, approximately 47 km (29 mi) west of the capital city, Tripoli.
The city serves as the administrative capital of the Zawiya District. Its coastal position makes it a notable geographic point within the Libyan coastline.
