Al Marj

Libya

Marj, also known as El Merj in Benghazi Arabic, is a city located in northeastern Libya. It serves as the administrative seat of the Marj District.

The city is situated within an upland valley that is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a range of hills belonging to the Jebel Akhdar Mountains. Historically, it is generally believed to be the site of the ancient city of Barca.
