Zile is a city located in north-central Turkey within the Tokat Province. It serves as the administrative seat of the Zile District and is situated to the south of Amasya and west of Tokat. As of 2022, the city has a population of 33,557.
The city possesses a long history, notably serving as a former bishopric and the site of the Battle of Zela. This historical conflict is famously associated with the phrase "Veni, vidi, vici." In the modern era, Zile functions as a center for tourism and agricultural marketing.
