Viļaka is a town situated in the Latgale region of Latvia. It is administratively part of the Balvi Municipality and is located approximately 246 km from the national capital, Riga.
The town is positioned near the international border with Russia, situated only 8 km away from the boundary line. As of 2020, the population of Viļaka was recorded at 1,223 residents.
