Wiltz is a commune with city status located in north-western Luxembourg. It is situated within the canton of Wiltz and lies along the banks of the river Wiltz.
The area served as a battleground during the Battle of the Bulge toward the end of World War II. During this conflict, a local airfield was utilized by both opposing sides depending on the shifting position of the front lines.
