Mokhotlong is a constituency and city located in the mountainous northeastern region of Lesotho. It serves as the administrative seat of the Mokhotlong District. The name of the city originates from the Sesotho language and translates to "Place of the Bald Ibis."
The city is situated near the Maloti Mountains and represents the first major urban center with an airport along the road leading from South Africa across the Sani Pass. Additionally, the Mokhotlong District contains Thabana Ntlenyana, which is the highest point in southern Africa.
