Hlotse

Lesotho

Hlotse is an important market town located in the country of Lesotho. Situated on the Hlotse River, the town is positioned near the border with South Africa.

The settlement was founded in 1876 by a British missionary named Reverend John Widdicombe. It served as a colonial center until Lesotho achieved its independence. As of 2016, the population of Hlotse was recorded at 38,558.
