Zile, historically known as Zela, is a city located in north-central Turkey within the Tokat Province. It serves as the administrative seat of the Zile District and is situated to the south of Amasya and west of Tokat.

The city has a significant historical background, notably serving as a former bishopric. It was also the site of the Battle of Zela, an event famously associated with the phrase "Veni, vidi, vici." As of 2022, the population of the city is recorded at 33,557.

In contemporary times, Zile functions as a regional center for tourism and agricultural marketing.
