Zwedru is the capital city of Grand Gedeh County, which is one of the 15 counties in Liberia. It is situated in the Tchien District within the country's south-eastern region.
The city is located near the Cavalla River and sits close to the border with Côte d'Ivoire. It is positioned approximately 435 km southeast of Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia. Zwedru is notably recognized as a stronghold of the Krahn tribe.
