Ganta, also known as Gompa City, is a town located in Nimba County in northern Liberia. It is situated approximately 323 kilometres (201 mi) from the capital city of Monrovia and lies just south of the border with Guinea.
As the second-most populous city in Liberia, Ganta serves as a bustling market town. The city is notable for its prominent white mosque, which features distinctively decorated minarets adorned with carved stars.
