Negombo, also known as Punchi Romaya and Mîpura, is a major city located in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. It is situated on the country's west coast at the mouth of the Negombo Lagoon.
The city is positioned approximately 38 km (24 mi) from Colombo via the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway. It serves as a significant location for travelers, as it is the nearest major city to Bandaranaike International Airport.
