Piaye

Saint Lucia

Piaye is a community located on the southern coast of the island of Saint Lucia. It is situated within the Laborie District, positioned near the neighboring areas of Balembouche and Bongalo. The community shares its name with a nearby river.

The settlement originated as a small group of workers who labored on the Balembouche estate. Following the post-Balembouche period, Piaye transitioned into a community primarily composed of fishermen, subsistence farmers, and producers of hand-crushed aggregate for use in the construction industry.
