Praslin is the second largest island in the Inner Seychelles, covering an area of 38.5 km2. It is located approximately 44 km (27 mi) northeast of Mahé.
The island has a population of around 7,533 people and is divided into two administrative districts: Baie Sainte Anne and Grand' Anse. The primary settlements on the island include Baie Ste Anne, Anse Volbert, and Grand' Anse.
