Savannakhet, officially named Kaysone Phomvihane since 2005, is a city located in western Laos. It serves as the capital of Savannakhet Province and was previously known by the name Khanthaboury.
As the second-largest city in Laos after Vientiane, it has a population of 125,760. The annual per capita income for Kaysone Phomvihane City is recorded at US$2,041.
