Pavlodar is a city located in northeastern Kazakhstan and serves as the capital of the Pavlodar Region. It is situated along the Irtysh River, approximately 450 kilometres northeast of the national capital, Astana, and 405 kilometres southeast of the Russian city of Omsk.
As of 2010, the city had a population of 331,710. Transportation to the city is facilitated by Pavlodar Airport.
