Aqmol

Kazakhstan

Akmol is a rural locality (selo) located in Kazakhstan. It serves as the administrative center of the Tselinograd District within the Akmola Region. The settlement is situated approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) west of the capital city, Astana.

The locality was formerly known as Malīnovka until it was renamed in 2007. As of 2015, the local akim (mayor) was Zhanat Beisekeyev. Population records indicate a community size of approximately 5,769 people as of 2012.
