Muan

South Korea

Muan County is a county located in Jeonnam-Gwangju, South Korea. It serves as an important administrative hub for the region, having become the capital of the former South Jeolla province in 2005. This transition occurred following the relocation of the provincial office from Gwangju to the village of Namak within Muan.

The county is also a site for significant transportation infrastructure development. Muan International Airport was opened in the area with the long-term objective of eventually replacing the existing airport located in Gwangju.
