Mungyeong

South Korea

Mungyeong is a city located in the North Gyeongsang Province of South Korea. The city's name translates roughly to "hearing good news." Its primary administrative, economic, and transportation hubs are centered in its principal town, Jeomchon.

The region is characterized by a lengthy history and various scenic tourist attractions. Since the 1990s, the local economy has seen a gradual shift toward tourism, specifically through Mungyeong Saejae. This growth follows a period of stagnant development caused by the decline of the city's coal industry.
