Gimpo is a city located in the Gyeonggi Province of South Korea. It shares borders with several neighboring regions, including Seoul and the lesser cities of Paju and Goyang. To its west lies Incheon, with which it shares the South Korean side of the Han River estuary.
The city is situated across the Han River from North Korea. As of current records, Gimpo has a population exceeding 300,000 people, consisting of more than 71,000 households. The city is currently led by Mayor Jeong Hayoung.
