Haean

South Korea

Haean is a township located in Yanggu County, Gangwon-do, South Korea. It is situated within the distinctive Haean Basin, an area that was nicknamed "The Punchbowl" by UN forces during the Korean War.

The region is characterized by its historical significance as a site of heavy fighting during the Korean War. The northern portion of the basin lies within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
