Donghae is a city located in the Gangwon Province of South Korea. It serves as a coastal hub featuring two major maritime ports: Donghae Harbor and Mukho Harbor.
The city is connected by significant transportation infrastructure, including the Yeongdong Line railroad and the Donghae Expressway. Geologically, the region is characterized by numerous caverns, similar to those found in the neighboring city of Samcheok. Historically, the area was a site for Hanzhong University.
