Gunsan, also romanized as Kunsan, is a city located in the North Jeolla Province of South Korea. It is situated on the south bank of the Geum River, positioned just upstream from where the river flows into the Yellow Sea.
Located on the midwest coast of the Korean Peninsula, the city is approximately 200 km (120 mi) southwest of Seoul. Gunsan has developed into an international trade seaport and a high-tech manufacturing industrial city.
