Unggi, now known as Sŏnbong-guyŏk, is a subdivision of the city of Rason located in North Korea. It is situated at the northeastern extreme of the country, where it borders both Russia and China.
The area lies on Unggi Bay, which serves as an extension of the Sea of Japan. Notable features of the region include a 200 megawatt oil-fired power plant and an alleged uranium mine. The name Sonbong translates to "Vanguard" in Korean.
