Sŏnbong-guyŏk, formerly known as Unggi, is a subdivision of the city of Rason located in North Korea. It is situated at the northeastern extreme of the country, where it borders both Russia and China. The area sits on Unggi Bay, which serves as an extension of the Sea of Japan.
The name Sonbong translates to "Vanguard" in Korean. Notable features of the region include a 200 megawatt oil-fired power plant and an alleged uranium mine located within the subdivision.
