Sinanju is a region located within Anju city in the South Pyongan Province of North Korea. The name of the area translates literally to "Comfortable New Village."
The administrative status of the surrounding area changed significantly in August 1987, when Anju County was elevated to city status. Following this transition, the Sinanju Workers' District was divided into three specific neighborhoods: Sinwon-dong, Wonhung-dong, and Yokchon-dong.
