Hamhung

North Korea

Hamhŭng is a major port city and industrial hub located in the southern part of South Hamgyŏng Province in North Korea. It serves as the capital of the province and stands as its main and most populous metropolitan area.

As the second-most populous city in North Korea, Hamhŭng is ranked as the 16th largest city on the Korean Peninsula. The city was centrally planned and constructed by the North Korean government.
