Songwon

North Korea

Songwŏn County is a kun, or county, located in southwestern Chagang Province in North Korea. It was originally part of Chosan before being established as an independent county in 1949 following the creation of Chagang Province.

The county shares borders with several neighboring regions: Usi and Kop'ung counties to the north, Tongsin County to the east, Hŭich'ŏn County to the south, and Tongchang County in North P'yŏngan Province to the west.
