Basseterre is the capital and largest city of the Caribbean nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Located within the Saint George Basseterre Parish, the city has an estimated population of 14,000 as of 2018.
The city's port is situated on the south-western coast of Saint Kitts Island at coordinates 17°18′N 62°44′W. It serves as one of the primary commercial depots for the Leeward Islands.
