Bakong is an ancient sandstone temple mountain located at Angkor, near present-day Siem Reap in Cambodia. It holds historical significance as the earliest sandstone temple mountain constructed under the Khmer Empire.
Built during the late ninth century CE, the structure served as the official state temple of King Indravarman I. It was situated within the capital city of Hariharalaya, a site currently known as Roluos.
