Batken

Kyrgyzstan

Batken is a town located in southwestern Kyrgyzstan on the southern fringe of the Fergana Valley. It serves as the administrative seat of the Batken Region and has been designated as a city of regional significance since 2000, meaning it is not part of a district despite remaining the administrative seat of the Batken District.

The town covers an area of 205 square kilometres. As of 2021, the resident population was 27,730, with 15,805 residents living within the town proper.
