Bökönbai is a village located in the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan. It serves as the administrative seat for both the Tong District and the Kün-Chygysh village community. Originally established in 1912 under the name Kol'tsovka, the settlement was later renamed in honor of the prominent poet and playwright Joomart Bökönbayev.
With a population of 14,267 as of 2021, Bökönbai is the largest village situated on the south shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. While its industrial sector declined following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the area has transitioned into a hub for mountain tourism to the south. Notable local activities include demonstrations of falconry with eagles.
