Naryn

Kyrgyzstan

Naryn is the regional administrative center of the Naryn Region located in central Kyrgyzstan. Established in 1868 as a fortress along a caravan route, the city currently covers an area of 84 square kilometres (32 sq mi). As of January 2021, its estimated population was 41,178.

The city is situated on both banks of the Naryn River, which flows through a picturesque gorge within the town. While it contains two regional museums and several hotels, the area is primarily residential in character.
