Tash-Kömür is a city of regional significance located in the Jalal-Abad Region of southern Kyrgyzstan. It serves as one of the five largest towns in the region and is not part of a specific district. The city covers an area of 47 square kilometres and had a resident population of 44,065 as of 2021.
Geographically, Tash-Kömür is situated on the west bank of the Naryn River, positioned opposite the main road connecting Osh and Bishkek. It lies at the edge of the Tien Shan Mountains and functions as a gateway to the Fergana Valley for those traveling south from Bishkek.
