Chuy is a city located in the extreme east of Uruguay within the Rocha Department. It is situated approximately 340 kilometres (211 mi) northeast of the capital city, Montevideo.
The town sits directly on the border with Brazil and is separated from its Brazilian sister town, Chuí, by a shared avenue that serves as the international boundary. To the east, it is bordered by the Arroyo Chuy stream. As of 2011, the population of Chuy was recorded at 9,675.
