Bishkek

Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek is the capital and largest urban city of Kyrgyzstan. Formerly known as Pishpek and later Frunze from 1926 to 1991, it also serves as the administrative center of the Chüy Region.

The city is situated near the border with Kazakhstan and has a population of approximately 1,200,000 people as of 2024.
