Lodwar is the capital of Turkana County and the largest town in north-western Kenya. It is situated west of Lake Turkana along the A1 road.
The town serves as a regional hub with primary industries including tourism and basket weaving. Geographically, it is bordered by the Loima Hills to its west.
According to the 2019 census, Lodwar had a recorded population of 82,970 residents.
