Mtwapa is a town located in the Kilifi County region of Kenya. It is situated approximately 16 kilometres (10 miles) north of Mombasa along the Mombasa-Malindi road. The town's geographical location places it in close proximity to the Jumba la Mtwana and the Mombasa Marine National Park and Reserve.
The area includes two informal settlements known as Majengo and Mzambarauni. These neighborhoods are currently participating in the UN-HABITAT Participatory Slum Upgrading Program, a project managed by resident committees. The initiative aims to improve living conditions by providing every household within these settlements with access to drinking water and toilets.
