Taito is a Japanese entertainment company primarily known for its involvement in the video game industry. While it shares a name with various geographical locations, this entity is headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The company specializes in the production and distribution of video games, toys, and amusement arcades.

Founded in 1953 by Ukrainian businessman Michael Kogan as the Taito Trading Company, the organization initially focused on importing products such as vodka, jukeboxes, and vending machines into Japan. The company expanded into video game production in 1973. In 2005, Taito was purchased by Square Enix, eventually becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of the corporation by 2006.
