Komae is a city located in the western portion of the Tokyo Metropolis in Japan. It is one of 30 municipalities situated within the Tama Area. As of April 1, 2021, the city had an estimated population of 83,218 and a population density of approximately 13,000 persons per square kilometer.
The city covers a total area of 6.39 square kilometers (2.47 square miles). Due to its size, Komae is the smallest administrative city in the Tokyo Metropolis in terms of both area and population. Additionally, it ranks as the second smallest city in Japan by land area.
